Introduction to Corrections
This course will examine the function, organization, and structure of correctional institutes in the Canadian justice system. Students will examine correctional theory, the role of correctional institutions in the administration of justice, and the impact of incarceration on crime. Topics may include correctional administration and personnel, treatment and supervision, alternatives to
incarceration, community corrections, and parole decision-making.
Prerequisites: CC100 or CC102 and registration status: senior student
